Cage Warriors middleweight champion Jack Hermansson (13-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has signed with the UFC and is slated to fight Scott Askham (14-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) at a September UFC Fight Night in Germany.
UFC officials today announced the bout.
The UFC Fight Night event takes place Sept. 3 at Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany. The entire event streams on UFC Fight Pass.
Hermansson, a 32-year-old Norwegian fighter, enters the UFC on an eight-fight winning streak. In his two most recent bouts, he made a successful Cage Warriors title defense with a TKO victory over Alan Carlos on April 15, and on May 21, he made a quick return to action and knocked out Ireneusz Cholewa at Venator FC 3. Twelve of his 13 career wins have now come via stoppage.
He now meets Askham, a 28-year-old Englishman who briefly fought for Cage Warriors before becoming a BAMMA champion in 2013. Since joining the UFC, he’s posted a 2-2 record. In his most recent bout, he rebounded from a split-decision loss to Krzysztof Jotko with a head-kick knockout of Chris Dempsey that earned a “Performance of the Night” bonus.
The latest UFC Fight Night in Hamburg lineup now includes:
- Andrei Arlovski vs. Josh Barnett
- Ryan Bader vs. Ilir Latifi
- Scott Askham vs. Jack Hermansson
